Weather Project for Drama

on April 14, 2013

On Wednesday, the children are going to present their weather forecasts for the British Isles. The goal of this project is practice talking about the weather; for example, Today, it is sunny in London. I showed the children this video to inspire them when we wrote our own forecasts.

Of course, I don’t expect their English to be the same as this boy’s! But we did focus on a phrase he used, “You can expect a high temperature of 8 and a low of 3”.

You can expect a high temperature of 8 and a low of 3”.

The children should memorize the texts they prepared and bring their weather map on Wednesday. They can bring costumes related to weather, such as umbrellas, hats, jackets, etc.

I’ve prepared a PowerPoint that can be used as a template. The children can customise it and use it in their presentations, for a multimedia effect. However, the weather maps they coloured will work just as well.
